The Jammu-Srinagar highway remained closed and 3000 vehicles were stuck on Saturday due to a landslide in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. A landslide occurred at Digdol in Ramban on Saturday morning leading to a pile of debris on the road.
Machines have been installed to clean the area. An official said that this 270 km long highway is the only route connecting Kashmir to other areas of the country. Earlier, there was a landslide at this place on Thursday night. According to officials, 3000 heavy vehicles and 300 light vehicles were stranded at different places on the highway. People and machines have been deployed to clean the area. Last week, the highway was closed for three days due to landslides caused by snowfall and heavy rains.
